A fine pearlware glazed zoomorphic press-molded creamware-bodied pottery sauce boat modeled as a fox head, the mouth forming the spout, and a swan at the back with the neck and head as a handle. The fox's ears are separately molded. The base features reeds or grasses in relief. The decoration is well applied with colored glazes. The piece is possibly the work of the Wood Family and dates to the late 18th century.

Dimensions: 4.5 inches high 6.5 inches long

Current Condition: Remarkable clean condition

Provenance: Retains the label of the Clare Lees Collection. Then from a Private collection London

Literature: Page 280 figure reference 191 is featured in the famous Weldon Collection titled A Passion for Pottery by Williams and Halfpenny.
