This earthenware baking or loaf dish is engagingly decorated with an image of a standing spotted bird between two leaves and a swirling slip-trailed border, all in dark caramel on buff-colored ground. This rare and exceptional dish is deep-sided and has a pie crust rim.

Diameter: 14 inches

Current Condition: The dish has been in half, the front invisible restoration, the back with a museum restoration showing the break to preserve integrity of this rare historic piece.

Provenance: Private collection London. Retains the label of the late Jonathan Horne Kensington Church Street London.
