Description
A late 18th-century pottery bust of Admiral Duncan is molded on a waisted socle base decorated in relief with trophies of war in Prattware colors. The Admiral is depicted in a blue naval uniform with ochre epaulets and a buttoned waistcoat.
Note: Admiral Adam Duncan, 1st Viscount Duncan, was celebrated as a hero for defeating the Dutch fleet on 11 October 1797. This victory is considered one of the most significant actions in British naval history.
