Description
This creamware boded plate is relief molded with the Cauliflower Pattern and made at William Greatbatch Pottery. Plates in this pattern are extremely anomalous survivors and were probably not as popular at the time as the hollow-wares.
The plate is in good order with a fine lead glaze and only minor historical wear.
William Greatbatch worked independently for 20 years until his bankruptcy, when he found respected and well-remunerated employment with Josiah Wedgwood until he died in 1813.
