A brown stoneware salt-glaze documentary-loving Cup named and dated James and Hannah Carline, December 16th 1816. The cup has two strap-formed handles and is beautifully decorated in sgraffito in the classic style. An inscription reads, " About this time, our Saviour came to save his fellow creature men to save us all etc...."
