This is a rare Staffordshire pottery Egyptian Black stoneware figure of a shepherd from the mid-18th century. The shepherd wears a brimmed hat and pantaloons tucked into his boots; a bag hangs over his shoulder. He carries a staff in his left hand and a posy in his right; the figure stands on a plinth base with bouquets and a seated dog.
