This large creamware pottery pitcher is enamel decorated and is named and dated in script "Solomon and Alice Fielding 1782". Alice sits at a table with tea and cakes while Solomon stands, with a rifle at his side and a dog nearby, surveying a field with three cows, one attended by a milkmaid, a calf, and a black horse. The rim is decorated with a named Plough and Sickle and  Scythe and Rake. This imposing documentary pitcher is expressively decorated, capturing an idyllic moment related to the elegant-looking couple.
