The circular earthenware dish expertly decorated with a trailing slip glaze in a Celtic inspired pattern. The body is a dark brown ground, and the slip is a  light caramel. The dish is in spectacular condition and dates from the late 18th century. This accomplished dish once formed part of the Katherine Prentis Murphy Collection which was auctioned in 1967.
