Rare early English pottery figures of standing musicians, a violinist, and horn player. The creamware bodied pieces decorated with splashed green and brown modeled on brown clay colored bases, the figures are lead-glazed and made in the classic Astbury -Whieldon manner. The violinist figure retains an old paper label from Frank Partridge, who was a major collector and dealer located in London and New York. They also keep the reference numbers from the museum from where they were de-accessioned. The figures complement each other and are offered as a pair although they can be acquired individually. 

Dimensions: 6.25 inches high

Current Condition: Very good condition with tiny fritting at the base and restoration at the bow.

Provenance: Frank Patridge London and New York. Art Institute of Chicago.
