A rare large scale pottery pearlware figure of a horse standing square on a green sponged decorated oblong base with maroon and blue stripes. The horse is wearing a yellow bridle with blue terminals. These figures emanating from the Leeds pottery are perhaps one of the most vibrant figures made in the early 19th century. Such figures were used as a display medium for equestrian Sadlers, tack,medical and feed suppliers.
