Antique west country Devon earthenware pitcher with Farmers Arms and Tavern related motifs and dated 1829. The pitcher has a wonderful glaze with a cream slip border at the rim. There are naively executed scraffito images of a drinking glass and pipe together with playing card symbols and a sheaf of corn incised into the body.
