A rare and highly decorative English delftware dish made in the mid 18th century attributed to Bristol or Liverpool delftworks. The dish has a border decorated with four fish, the central panel shows a ship at sail with a Chinese figure under a parasol at the tiller.

Diameter: 13.75 inches

Current Condition: Unrestored fine clean condition with some fritting of the glaze at the rim.

Literature: A plate with related decoration from the Goldwitx Collection sold at Sothebys New York in 2006, and a bowl from the Longridge Collection page 333 volume 2 ( excavated shards found at Williamsburg at Brush-Everard House). Also re. page 149 British Delft at Williamsburg illustrates an image of similar style.
